Measuring Pullback Depth Without Guesswork

Analytics dashboard with trend lines and metrics

After a clean impulse, price often pauses. The skill is deciding whether the pause is a constructive pullback or the start of a full reversal.

In our clinics we measure pullback depth against the prior impulse leg. Shallow holds near the breakout zone can still be valid; deep overlaps that erase most of the impulse deserve more caution.

Combine depth with structure. Look for prior micro-support, round numbers only when they coincide with structure, and candle behaviour that shows selling pressure fading.

Always define invalidation before entry. If that level is too wide for your account rules, skip the setup rather than widening risk.
